LOVE / DEATH

Literature, all operas, they tell almost exclusively of love and death.
They are also about nature, about youth and age, political conflicts,
voyages, grave subjects from ancient mythology – but the great topics
that have lasted for centuries are these two: love and death.
Scheherazade talks for 1,001 nights in order to stay alive, and while
the man who wants to kill her listens to her, he falls in love with her.
And lets her live. Is this an instance where love conquered death,
finally, for once? Oh no. Narration conquered all. Art won out.
